Technology Drives Transport Industry

An Australian software company is leading the way nationally and internationally with its product developed specifically for the heavy transport industry.

Omnix has developed a specialist suite of software for the industry, which tracks every process in the chain from an order being placed to final delivery.

"Our product has a proven track record, reducing the risk for transport operators," Cappy Engelbrecht Omnix Director said today.

"The software ensures efficient management of operations, including freight management, scheduling, warehousing, customer service and e-commerce.

"One of the most important outcomes for operators is the built-in logic to maintain driver safety."

The software has been purchased by one of Australia's largest carriers, Gregory's Transport.

"Gregory's selected our product because they felt it was most able to manage all aspects of their transport operations - including mobile commerce," Ms Engelbrecht said.

Another successful strategic development is a teaming arrangement with multi-national company Unisys which will introduce the Omnix product to the international market.

Sales for 2002 exceeded $1 million, and the company already has more than one thousand end-users installed across Australia.

"On top of this we have recorded 30 per cent growth per annum, which has led to staff increases, no mean feat in the current economic climate, and particularly within the IT industry," Ms Engelbrecht said.

Omnix is now expanding nationally with its Head Office established in Brisbane, an office in Melbourne opened in February 2003 and offices in Sydney planned for later this year.

Omnix will graduate from the highly successful technology incubator, i.lab at an official event next week.

NOTE: All media are invited to the graduation on Wednesday April 16, 2003, 12pm at Tomoko Restaurant, Roma Street Parklands, Brisbane.

Interviews can be organised prior to the launch on request.
